Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies (RDIAS) successfully organized One Week Faculty Development Program from December 2-7, 2024 in the area of “Financial Modeling and Behavioral Finance” under AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Program. The FDP started with the session of Prof. C.P. Gupta on Day 1, providing an in-depth overview of financial modelling along with hands-on practice on advanced excel. The participants were actively engaged through article discussions & case study analyses. Day 2 started with the session of Prof. Divya Verma, Madam delved into the realm of Behavioral Finance along with Prospect Theory. The session was enriched by article reviews and case study discussions on behavioral corporate finance along with testing of behavioral biases in daily life of an investor. Day 3 began with the session of Prof. Narain Chandra, Sir conducted a hands-on session on calculation of weighted average cost of capital. The inclusion of article discussions and relevant case study examples enabled participants to analyze capital budgeting decisions aspects. Day 4 commenced with the session of Prof. Hamendra Kumar Dangi covering Challenges faced by researchers in writing Research Methodology. Also, participants gained deeper insights through hand-on practice on VOS viewer software. This was followed by the session of Dr. Monica Aggarwal, madam conducted a hands-on session on implications of Mendeley software in academic research and scholarly writing. Day 5 started with an Incubator Visit to DTU Innovation and Incubation Foundation (IIF) assisted by Mr. Amit Singh. The visit provided participants an exposure to cutting-edge innovation, entrepreneurship, and research happening in the field of technology and business incubation. This was followed by the session of Mr. Tarun Kumar, Assistant Director, Ernst & Young Alumni RDIAS steering discussion on Security Analysis and Portfolio Management enabling participants to grasp complex investment strategies through company analysis.
